World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2021

Celebrated between 18-24 November each year, the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections

The WAAW is organized under the strategy and guidelines established within the Tripartite (FAO, OIE and WHO) at a global level. For this year, the strategy consists in the launch of global campaign colour campaign and the theme chosen is “Spread Awareness, Stop Resistance”

 

Go Blue Campaign

Drawing from the Antimicrobials: Handle with Care slogan the colour light blue has been selected for the campaign. We hope that campaign participants, buildings, or landmarks will ‘Go Blue’ during this week

 

How do you get involved?

Join the Go Blue campaign and encourage your workplace and community to do so.

· Wear blue during WAAW events; · Adjust your social media profiles with WAAW campaign digital resources;

· Share a photo (your or of an animal) with a blue badge with the hashtags #WAAW #Antimicrobialresistance “OneHealth and tagged the FAO, OIE and WHO in your publication.
