In line with the OIE’s strategic objective of assuring animal health and welfare, a letter of agreement was signed on 9 August between the OIE and the Pan-American Dairy Federation (FEPALE).

This organization, founded in 1991, has as its main objective to promote the development of the dairy chain in the entire region of the Americas, integrating public and private institutions and organizations.

Within the framework of the agreement with the OIE, activities related to Animal Welfare in dairy will be carried out, with the support of the OIE collaborating centre, in addition to FEPALE’s participation with the sending of comments to the OIE Standards that are in this process and their inclusion in the monthly meetings on Antimicrobial Resistance of the Tripartite Alliance at the Regional level.

We are very pleased to be able to continue working for animal health and welfare in the Region of the Americas and hope that this will be the beginning of a fruitful joint work.
