The VICH Steering Committee invited CAMEVET to participate in the the 11th VICH Outreach Forum (VOF) meeting, and in the 6th Public Conference, both developed in Cape Town, South Africa.
The committee was represented by Dr. Virginia Quiñones, Focal Point of Veterinary Products of the OIE of Dominican Republic, and selected by the CAMEVET’s executive Board.
In the event, that took place from February 25 at 28, 2019, participated the VICH Steering Committee, the OIE and the VOF members.
A general description was made of VICH GL 48, followed by a breakout session and an open discussion on the withdrawal period studies and the issues encountered by VOF members for the implementation of GL 48.
On a different note an introduction was carried out by the industry on the practical aspects of the implementation of the Pharmacovigilance, in addition to the presentation of VICH GL 30 and his vocabularies.
The Secretariat also presented a brief overview of the activity status in the different VICH Working Groups.
The Steering Committee has signed the draft VICH GL 57 – MRK: Residues on aquatic species, for implementation in the VICH countries and regions.
The Secretariat confirmed that the interval between the VOF/ VICH SC meetings will be extended to a 12-month cycle from 2020 onwards, and that the future meetings will take place each year in November.
